monthly Design Challenge with Molly Schaller
Get inspired with an soft spring palette of Bead Gallery® beads from the Halcraft Collection
Welcome to the April Pretty Palette Reveal! Our palette is made of a lovely selection of spring goodies from marbled white howlite to sparkling coral connectors to matte stone, wood, and bone beads. I had a wonderful time playing with beads in the colors I'd enjoyed so much last month in my knitting project's yarn. You can read more about this month's Pretty Palette Challenge in my Inspiration post.
Just to refresh your memory, to the right is what I had to use for April's Pretty Palette. This week the entire April Pretty Palette is 40% off along with the rest of the entire Halcraft Collection website through Monday, April 29th at 10 a.m. ET. It's a great time to stock up on your favorite beads or try some new beads that have piqued your interest.
My Pretty Palette pieces are below. Just click the image of each for instructions to make your own. To see even more Pretty Palette fun, head over to the Halcraft Beaded Jewelry Facebook group. That's where you can see unique projects with the same set of beads! Beaders from all over the world create projects with the same beads, and you won't believe the variety of designs that are shared.
Want to share your Pretty Palette project with the world but you aren't on Facebook? We LOVE Instagram! Tag Halcraft Collection with #PrettyPalettes or #halcraftprettypalettes so we can celebrate your work!
The Softly Spring Earrings (above) are a great option for the beginning wire worker. A few wraps of wire allows you to use the donut beads even though they have no traditional holes for stringing, and they look fabulously simple and modern!
I created two different sets of bracelet stacks this month. The Softly Spring Sparkle Stack has a bit of shine and glisten due to the rhinestones on the tassel and around the exquisite coral focal.
The Softly Spring Earthy Stack (below) is more subtle with matte mixed stone rounds, muted Czech fire-polished faceted glass, and silvery bone rondelles.
The Softly Spring Necklace has a sliding closure around the suede lace that allows you to wear it long (the way I like it) or closer to your neck, in a shorter style. This gives you a bit of versatility when choosing what works best with the neckline of your outfit. Strung on silk cording that adds texture to the connections on the donuts, these simulated amazonite beads were some of my favorites to work with.
