Leafing Out Earrings 1

Materials:
10 8x18mm orange AB coated glass leaves
4 5mm dark amethyst Czech fire polished glass faceted rounds
2 8mm opaque dark red glass fire polished faceted rounds
6 8x5mm red dyed bamboo coral teardrops
12” 26-gauge gold color German style wire
1 pair gold tone ear wires

Tools:
Round-nose pliers
Chain-nose pliers
Wire nippers

Level of difficulty: intermediate

Time: 30 minutes or less

Instructions:

1. Cut 2 2” and 2 4” pieces of 26-gauge German wire.
2. Using one of the 2” pieces of wire, make a wrapped loop. String a red coral teardrop bead. Make a wrapped loop on the other side. Repeat.
3. Slide 1 5mm dark amethyst faceted round, 5 orange leaf beads, and 1 5mm dark amethyst bead onto a 4”piece of German wire, ensuring the leaves are all aligned so that they point in the same direction and so that the beads are about 1/3 of the way along the wire.
4. Make a loop in the wire, wrapping the shorter wire around the longer wire, then trimming excess wire so that the longer wire emerges from the wrapped loop.
5. String 1 8mm opaque dark red Czech faceted round, make a wrapped loop that connects the leaf loop to the teardrop link and trim the excess wire.
6. Connect top of teardrop link to ear wires.
7. Repeat steps 2-6 for second earring.

8” 26-gauge gold color German style wire
1 pair gold tone ear wires

Time: 30 minutes or less

3. Onto the longer wire string 1 gold tone dot rondelle and a 5mm dark amethyst fire-polished round. Make a wrapped loop.

6. Attach an ear wire to the wrapped loop.
7. Repeat steps 2-6 to create the second earring.
