monthly Design Challenge with Molly Schaller
Sparkle and shine was definitely the case with this Pretty Palette! I spent what turned out to be a very soggy Christmas weekend with these beautiful beads, and they were just what the doctor ordered. Even though sleet and hail came down outside, I found flashes of aurora borealis color on my bead table.
I realized this set was going to be perfect for New Year's Eve!
Let's get ready to celebrate!
I started as I often do with earrings. After making two pairs, I realized I must be having a teardrop moment. Both of the earrings and some of the beads were teardrop shaped!

After these two pairs of earrings were made, I wanted to play around with creating a gradient with these gorgeous Czech glass fire-polished beads. The aurora borealis coatings made mixing them into a flow feel perfect. I arranged them into a stacked pair of very long dangle earrings with rhinestone snowflakes.

Sign Me Up!And once I set up that gradient flow, I couldn't help but create a large multi-strand necklace that embraced the same flow with a few added beads. Small, silver 11/0 seed beads between the Czech glass faceted rounds give the illusion of knots and four-hole sliders hold the necklace strands in place.

The neighbor girls love purple and sparkles, so I thought that simple bracelets with the light purple glass pearls and connectors would make cute gifts. I made a couple in different sizes for my favorite neighbors.
