monthly Design Challenge with Molly Schaller
So far, I have made seven pieces with these Pretty Palette beads, and I have at least four more designs in my head--and a few started on my bead board--that I'd like to make as well! That's one thing I really love about the Pretty Palettes; you get enough beads to make a ton of jewelry!
I hope you found this palette as inspiring as I have. I'm going to start with the earrings because they were the first pieces I made. Large rectangular amethysts with gorgeous striping make a striking centerpiece. I found two that were similar in their stripes and used them as a base for the Spring Festival earrings.
I was so drawn to the opal glass rounds that they made up most of the necklace, which features another amethyst rectangle and the orange agate and freshwater pearl pendant. This necklace is easy to string and packs a visual punch.
I found I just couldn't stop making bracelets! Each of the connectors is its own tiny treasure, and each one is slightly different. I had two of the purple agate connectors. One was dark and crackled and the other was a watercolor style wash of lavender in swirls. The amazonite bracelet is a linked bracelet featuring a beautiful faceted Brazilian amazonite connector with wire wrapped links.
The Spring Festival Bracelet is multistrand but remains a simple piece to make. By holding three strands together for the single portion then separating them to string different strands, you are able to bring a lot of interest to this asymmetrical bracelet.
All of the individual beads and the full kit are 30% off all month, but be sure to pop your order in today because the Pretty Palette kits sell out!
