Macabré Monday Halloween Mashup!

Macabré Monday Halloween Mashup!

October 31, 2017

Halloween is almost here! You've got just one week to dust off your cauldron of candy, construct your costume, and carve your pumpkin. But don't forget, you can also spook up your daytime look with a few beaded accessories. Today's Halloween Mashup features three very different projects:

1. A quick wire-wrapped Pumpkin Cuff, an over-the-top Joyful Remembrance necklace, and a Spike & Sparkle choker.

First off, we have Barb Switzer's, Pumpkin Cuff. I'm calling it the "weekday breakfast." It is perfect for you if you've got just a little bit of time, but you want something fortifying (wire wrapping is an excellent technique to practice) that keeps you going. It doesn't take a lot of materials--like a good bowl of oatmeal. It's a great elementary school teacher's gift as well. Jack-O-Lanterns are always favorites!

2. Molly Schaller's Spike & Sparkle Choker

Now it's time for your beading "lunch." Something sensible and satisfying. If you have a little more time on your hands and you want to make an accessory that's got some edge and works for Halloween as well as year-round, you can make Molly Schaller's Spike & Sparkle Choker.

    3. Erin Prais-Hintz's Joyful Remembrance Necklace

Our final project is one by Erin Prais-Hintz. It's like Friday night dinner out. It is decadent with "courses" of metal as well as stone and ceramic beads. Erin pulled out all the stops on this one! Her Joyful Remembrance necklace is festooned with skulls, butterflies, roses, and daisies. What a celebration! This necklace is one best left for a weekend or other time when you've got a few hours strung together to spend with your beading, as there's a lot of wire looping involved in creating all of those beautiful beaded drops. That said, it's a great project to work on while watching your favorite movie, which is also perfect for a Friday night!

We hope you liked our "smorgasbord" of beading goodies today! Thanks for visiting! For even more projects, visit our Halloween & Day of the Dead Pinterest board. dodhallpintweb
